Academic & Personal Integrity
Reach Your Academic & Personal Goals With Integrity
At LSU, all students can be valuable members of the campus community by making responsible decisions, supporting the safety and welfare of fellow Tigers, and acting with honesty and integrity inside and outside of the classroom.
While it's normal to be concerned after receiving this letter, know that you have not been found responsible at this time. The Initial Charge Letter is meant to let you know that a situation regarding you has been reported to our office. This is the first step in the Conduct Process at LSU. This Conduct Process is in place to determine if you are or are not responsible for violating the Student Conduct Code or other campus regulations.
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974 (also known as the Buckley Amendment) is a Federal law that helps protect the privacy of student education records. The Act provides students the right to inspect and review education records, the right to seek to amend those records, and the right to limit disclosure of information from the records. The intent of the legislation is to protect the rights of students and to ensure the privacy and accuracy of education records. The Act applies to all institutions that are recipients of federal aid administered by the Secretary of Education.

Your Voice Matters
Students needed for University Hearing Panel (UHP)
Bring a student voice to conduct hearings. The University Hearing Panel (UHP) reviews student conduct cases where suspension or expulsion may be possible. Hearings require a mix of students and faculty, and at least one student member is required for each panel to meet quorum.
By serving, you bring the student perspective to important decisions and help ensure a fair process for the LSU community.
Code of Student Conduct
Promoting academic and personal integrity
The purpose of the Code is to engage Students on issues of community membership, encourage responsible decision making, safeguard the health and welfare of all members of the University community, protect University property, and promote academic integrity.
