Office of the President
Leading LSU Forward
Since joining LSU, President Rousse has been hard at work—meeting with students, faculty, and staff, listening to the community, and building a strong foundation for the work ahead.
We Build Teams that Win
LSU is creating a new School of Construction. By expanding the pool of construction graduates and fueling research that leads to new companies, products, and jobs, the school will play a key role in the success of Louisiana infrastructure projects and economic development initiatives for decades to come.
Artificial intelligence is reshaping business. LSU’s College of Engineering is filling the need by creating courses, certificates, and degrees in AI and digital twin. Engineering faculty have produced an array of educational offerings designed to skill up the state.
Born at LSU, Bilingual Tigers Story Hour grew from a class into a community literacy partnership. Now hosted in collaboration with the Gardere Initiative with dual-language readings and the EBR Parish Library’s mobile unit, it expands bilingual access while giving LSU students hands-on experience.
For more than 25 years, through the LSU Community Playground Project, biological engineering students have worked with communities to co-design and build 51 safe, accessible playgrounds in nine parishes across Louisiana.
LSU’s Integrative Community Studies program provides an inclusive college experience, building academic, career, and life skills while gaining national recognition and federal funding for its measurable impact across Louisiana.
LSU researchers are helping to develop a smart, AI-powered exoskeleton to protect construction workers from strain and injury. Blending engineering with apparel design, the team is creating wearable technology for diverse body types and real-world job demands.
