Our athletes consistently win team and individual championships, post impressive academic successes, and go on to achieve great things both in and out of athletics. LSU Athletics is committed to challenging student-athletes to achieve their highest level of competitive, intellectual, and personal development.
Each of the winning teams is working to solve critical health challenges in Louisiana, including for patients suffering from cancer, trauma, and heart and lung disease. CAP also works to advance sports medicine and performance, as well as medical data science, to bring the benefits of innovation directly to those who need it most.
In college softball, split-second decisions can decide a game. At LSU, coaches and players rely on strategy and instinct—now strengthened by a collaboration between LSU Softball and the Department of Mathematics that turns preparation and probability into a competitive edge.
Through an inaugural round of funding in 2024-2025, seven collaborative research teams received $1.6 million in support and sprang into action last January. This is where they are now.
