The Louisiana Economy Forecasting Model, maintained by the Department of Economics, provides economic forecasts for Louisiana and the state’s nine metropolitan areas for the current quarter and three quarters ahead. The forecasts for the third quarter of 2026 through the second quarter of 2027 suggest continuing growth in state employment, and slightly stronger growth in GSP.

The E. J. Ourso College of Business is pleased to introduce our new faculty members for the 2026-2027 academic year. These additions bring specialized expertise to the college across various fields, including accounting, economics, entrepreneurship and information systems, marketing and management.

We are pleased to announce that associate professor Suzette Caleo will serve as the next chair of the LSU Department of Public Administration. Caleo has served on the LSU faculty since 2012, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in public management, human resource management, organizational behavior, data analytics and program evaluation.
