Office of Risk Management FASOPs

FASOPs

Finance and Administration Standard Operating Procedures (FASOPs) outline how specific administrative processes are carried out at LSU. The Office of Risk Management has developed the following FASOPs that document the procedures and responsibilities involved in processes our office regularly manages.

These FASOPs provide transparency into how Risk Management approaches these processes and help ensure our procedures are clearly documented and consistently followed. If you have any questions or would like to discuss, please contact riskmanagement@lsu.edu.

Visit Finance and Administrative Operating Procedures for a list of all FASOPs.

FASOP RM 1 (Risk Management Services)

This FASOP establishes how University units work with the LSU Office of Risk Management to identify, evaluate, and manage risk. It describes the services the Office of Risk Management provides and the procedures for requesting risk management assistance, obtaining insurance and risk transfer review, reviewing agreements with risk transfer provisions, and reporting incidents and other events.

FASOP RM 2 (Risk Management Framework)

This FASOP establishes the framework the LSU Office of Risk Management uses to identify, assess, prioritize, and treat risks to the University, and to inform the University’s insurance and risk financing decisions. The framework provides a process for assessing risk with the participation of key University stakeholders, maintaining a University risk inventory, and reassessing risk on a recurring basis.

FASOP RM 3 (Transitional Duty Employment Program)

The purpose of this FASOP is to establish a uniform process for administering the transitional duty employment (TDE) program for LSU A&M employees who sustain a compensable work-related injury and are temporarily unable to perform some or all assigned duties. TDE is intended to support a safe and timely return to work, maintain productive employment when medically appropriate, and reduce the operational and financial impact of lost work time.

FASOP RM 4 (Driver Authorization)

This FASOP establishes who must be a University Authorized Driver and the process for becoming one. Confirming that individuals who drive on University business are properly licensed, trained, and subject to motor vehicle record review promotes safe driving and helps protect LSU employees, students, program participants, visitors, and the public. This FASOP supports compliance with PM-13, University Travel Regulations, and PM-21, Use of University Automobiles and Trucks.
