All Psychology graduate programs begin in the Fall semester. Applications are not accepted for Spring or Summer admission.
The deadline to submit a Graduate School application for Fall admission is December 1st of the preceding year. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
Applicants will be notified of the department's admission decision no later than May 1.
All Psychology graduate programs are full-time and in-person. Part-time and online options are not available.
All applicants to doctoral programs are automatically considered for available funding
opportunities. No separate funding application is required.
Funding decisions are based on applicant qualifications and merit. Graduate assistantships
are not awarded based on residency status or financial need.

All Psychology graduate programs are mentorship-based. Students work closely with a primary faculty mentor, referred to as their major professor, throughout their graduate training.
All four Psychology graduate programs lead to a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree.
The department does not offer standalone master's degree programs.
Students entering without a master's degree may earn one during the course of their
doctoral studies. Students who already hold a relevant master's degree may be eligible
to waive certain requirements, subject to approval by their major professor.

The department does not have a formal transfer credit process. However, admitted students may request waivers for required courses if they can demonstrate that equivalent coursework was completed at another institution. Course waivers are granted at the discretion of the department and the student's major professor.
